| The making of the replica Ferrari 312P I'd been searching for the Aurora Ferrari 312P Coupe for years. After making the 312P from a fibreglass casting shown elsewhere in this web site I managed to get the original slot car. This I cast, using the two-part molding technique, and then installed it on a standard Fly Ferrari 512 chassis. I'm really pleased with the results. Below are pictures taken along the way. They include the minor modifications I made to the headlamps and rear arches to make it more like the real thing. They also include all three cars together, i.e. the Aurora car, the fibreglass car (with stainless steel chassis) and the resin car with fly chassis. These pictures may take a couple of minutes to download. |
