"Gentlemen, start your engines!", it is time for Proxy Race II. - The Mustang

This slot car is the result of some across the pond co-operation. It is based on Parnelli Jones' extremely successful 1970 Trans Am car. Minor body changes to the Monogram static body included modifying the hood bulge, removing the sill details and adding front and rear spoilers.

Interior was made out of plasticard. I didn't widen the rear arches as the 1:1 car only had slight flares and I didn't want to spoil the car's looks.

The chassis was made up completely by Chris Briggs. Chris kindly offered to help and constructed a chassis to fit a Mustang body he had. Have a look on my web site to see how Chris puts his chassis together (Chris' Chassis). It was sent over to me in the UK, and married up to my Mustang body. He even provided complete instructions on how to fit those ingenious body mounts. Thanks Chris.

Chris tested and tuned his chassis before he sent it so I hope it will be OK and I haven't introduced any gremlins. I did change the front and rear wheels though to enable proper inserts to be included. (though these pictures don't show the new rear wheels)

But again, whatever happens, it looks good and was great fun doing.
