The second series of Pre-Add bodyshells representing F1 cars from the 1950-1951 era by Mac Pinches Here is the second series of my Pre-Add body kits representing cars from the 1950-1951 formula, 1.5 litre supercharged and 4.5 litre unsupercharged. The start of the drivers world championship. The kit format remains as in the first series i.e. they are 1/32nd scale and made of resin. They come complete with decals, driver, metal cast exhausts, filler caps etc. Improvements in the decals have been made as these were produced by Mark Gussin to his usual high standards. Kit 11. Is the stately Talbot Lago used to great effect by the team and privat entrants. The car depicted is the 1949 French GP winner driven by Louis Chiron.
Kit 12. Is the Maserati 4CLT/48 1.5 litre; again a team and privateer car, also the European starting point of J.M. Fangio's career. This car was placed second at the San Remo GP driven by Villoresi.
Kit 13. One of the most successful racing cars of all time the Alfa Romeo 158 "Alfetta" was raced by Guiseppi Farina to gain the first World Championship title. This kit depicts the 1950 British GP winner. Enzo Ferrari had an input into the design of the "Alfetta" but when the Ferrari 375 beat the Alfas at Silverstone he is quoted as saying "it was like killing his own mother".
Kit 14. Represents the Ferrari 375; depicted is the Villoresi driven Syracuse winner number 24.
Kit 15. Teams have problems from time to time but BRM seemed to have them all of the time with their 16 cylinder car. This kit is the Mark 1A version of the car, as driven by Moss and Fangio at Dunrod. Probably the most famous failure in Grand Prix history.
Further kits will follow taking in all major cars up to the end of 1961. I can be contacted by email at malcolm@pinches5.fsnet.co.uk and by telephone in the UK on 01922-410420. They cost £18 each (plus postage & packing) and I accept all major Credit Cards. |
